Our work

Built through experience. Improved through use.

A small number of projects, described as they are. Each one has shaped the technology we now offer to other organisations.

Offline and low-connectivity education

Our School in a Box approach: learning content and local AI served from a device inside the school, so learning continues without a reliable internet connection.

Problem
Many schools and communities have unreliable or no connectivity, which rules out most digital learning tools.
Luma’s role
Designing and developing the hardware and software system.
Technology
School in a Box, local and small language models, offline content distribution.

From public deployment to product

Our products came from what we learned in use.

Running a public education service showed us problems no specification would have predicted. Each lesson became part of the technology we now offer.

People reach for the phone and the channel they already have, often with little data.

BecameMessaging-based learning that works on familiar, low-data channels.

Learners understand better when they can ask in their home language.

BecameLocal-language delivery as a standard capability.

Generic AI answers drift from what is actually taught in class.

BecameEducation AI that works from approved curriculum resources.

Organisations already hold excellent materials that are hard to use digitally.

BecameContent Factory, with human review before anything is published.
